My PK380 Specs

(r1, Oct 2013)
Home/car defense; is often small & light enough for concealed carry.

Sales/service (from 2013): waltherarms.com (Walther USA)
Mine built early 2010, Koln, by Umarex (owns Walther).
(A Euro 'twin' PK380 (p.a.k.) fires only blanks/gas/pepper.)

Racking force is light (7 lb; peaks at 8.3 lb). .Recoil is 'light'.
A 'long' 3.66" barrel good with the weak 380acp ammo.

Rifling: 9.5" turn (bullets don't keyhole). Pushing bullet through revealed tight fit.
Size envelope:  6.6" x 5.2 x 1.2
Weight(loaded) = 22.7oz  (18.2 + 1.8 for mag + 2.7 for 8 rounds)

Trigger DA: rough, 3/4", 10lb, no 'pre-break' indication.(made smoother,0.6", 8-lb)
Light SA: 4.5 lb, creep=.07" (accurate defensive use needs .05" to .12")

De-cocking:  . Muzzle in safe direction.  .Move safety lever to "S",
then hold hammer back with thumb, pull the trigger, then release trigger,
relax hammer slowly.  (this is often done with a round in chamber)
If hammer slips, a blocking step keeps hammer away from firing pin.

Ammo: 380acp standard-P.  .NO +P+. .Avoid +P.  (suggest RN/FN full-jacket)
380 expanding bullets might expand too soon at firm barriers (leather/bone/glass).
Flat-nose full jacket is a reasonable compromise if it cycles reliably.

Rail is some Umarex type (non-standard; needs shims for other devices)
Safeties: Thumb-lever hammer-block. The trigger moves the firing-pin block.
Trigger can have key 'lock', but this can jam gun if not unlocked before use.
Take-down catch traps key (keeps key in place to warn that slide is unlocked).

Failures: 7 in 350 (1 ftfire, 1 ftx, 1 ftfeed, 2 ftej, 2 mag-unlatched)
And 12 times in 800, the safety lever was still engaged.
My PK is now modified as listed in "Work On My PK".
Some of those changes are good for all PK380's.
